Interviewer:

Magnopus, Science and Technology Council of the Academy

Event organizer and interviewer, October 2019

An interview with Magnopus Creative Director and Council Co-Chair Craig Barron I resourced and centered around virtual reality and the storytelling technology landscape. We discussed immersion in entertainment and crafting experiences for diverse populations. Completed for class assignment under California Polytechnic Pomona University.

About Magnopus:

Where physical meets digital to create extraordinary experiences. Whether it’s through AR, VR, virtual production, the web, or apps, we bring art and technology together to create new-level immersive experiences. From an immersive concert experience for Sony Music to the first-ever interactive content for Disney+, we’re proud to make visions into realities for people all over the world.

About the Science and Technology Council:

The ongoing explosion in digital motion picture technology is causing changes more wide sweeping than any the industry has faced since the introduction of sound in 1926. Movie production, post-production and exhibition are all moving – or have already moved – away from the methods and processes which predominated for the past 100 years. While these shifts hold great promise, they also underscore the need to ensure that technology enhances rather than dominates the art form.
